Made a tornado today My husband and I were invited to our grandson's grandparents day breakfast this morning. He's in second grade and very proud to show us all around the school. In the Library, they were conducting the annual National Scolastic book sale. Yeah right!!! Naturally he took us in there. He found a tornado in a jar and fell in love with it. It was cute, interesting and too expensive for what it was. I told him we could make it ourselves. So when I got home I looked it up on the net and found it. I'd like to share it with you. I used a plastic beer bottle, (from one of my old business attempts) Fill 3/4 with water, add 1 teaspoon of vinegar and 1 teaspoon of liquid soap. Replace the lid and there you have it. Hold the long neck portion of the bottle and rotate the bottle so the bottom of the bottle makes a circle. Stop twirling and watch the tornado! I also put a couple of tree shaped glitter in the bottle for more effects. You can use a jar, I would just make sure it's plastic if you are doing it with a child. Grandparents have so much fun!!
