Sense of Smell - Strongest Emotion Trigger
Although Armomathery may seem to be very "new age" it has been practiced for over 5,000 years. It has it's roots in the ancient healing practices of mankind. Aromatherapy is a truly holistic therapy. Early mankind probably discovered by chance that some of the leaves, roots and berries gathered for food made sick people feel better. And found that when the juices or wet leaves were wrapped around a wound that they healed faster. They also probably noticed what plants sick animals ate to get better. This was long before we had the knowledge of distillation of the plants to obtain the essential oil from these medicinal plants. Burning twigs of certain bushes or trees thrown on a fire as fuel gave off smoke that made people feel happy, drowsy, excited or cleared sick feeling they had. They soon figured out which twigs gave off what smoke for what feeling. (let me tell you, I'd have burned the happy twigs myself) Smell is the strongest emotion trigger there is. Take the time and research some of the essential oils and what they can do for you. It will truly amaze you and they truly do work! |
